Leeds Festival Announce Festival Republic Stage

This year's hotly anticipated lineup for the Leeds Festival's Festival Republic Stage has been released. The Festival Republic Stage has, in the past, given us a glimpse of future headliners with the likes of Muse, Coldplay, and Arctic Monkeys all performing this slot.

This year sees Ash take up the headline slot on Friday after a run of 26 single releases spanning the alphabet, and a UK-wide tour of towns stating with the corresponding letter. Joining them on the Friday are Berlin's Atari Teenage Riot, who have recently reformed, and sleepontheleft.com favourites Fight Like Apes.

Northern England gets a big shout on the Saturday with the (mainly) Cumbrian British Sea Power headlining and Yorkshire's One Night Only get the chance to showcase their second album, out in August.

Sunday will bring Marina And The Diamonds to the Yorkshire Countryside after her sellout UK tour and is sure to be a highlight for many. Local lads The Sunshine Underground return home to Leeds following their second album.

Unfortunately Miike Snow has been forced to pull out of this year's festival, but The Joy Formidable have stepped up to take over the slot.
