ROCKING THE BLUE PLAQUES GIG

To celebrate the two seminal recording studios in Rochdale being awarded commemorative blue plaques, Peter Hook and Section 25 will play a gig at the  Back Door Music Project, Smith Street, Rochdale  from 8.00pm till late, Wednesday 23rd September 2009 as a fundraiser for Back Door Music Project. There will also be DJ sets from Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Martin Coogan (Mock Turtles) and John Robb (Goldblade) and live performances by Safety Pins, Tin Griffin, Rhythms of Rochdale and more surprises and music celebs in the audience.

The blue plaques are a celebration of this extraordinary contribution to British music. The event highlights the borough’s links with the late John Peel, the Factory Records scene and the legendary Deeply Vale music festivals of the late ‘70s, recently described by Stuart Maconie as “the North West's Glastonbury.”
