[Xtra Mile Recordings]
Released: 5th October 2009

To be honest, I'm finding it hard to review this single by the hotly tipped The Xcerts as the CD i have been sent is badly scratched and keeps jumping and skipping in the CD player. So, I have resorted to listening to the tune a few times on their MySpace page which isn't ideal as my internet appears to be having a go slow day in protest that I'm asking it to stream a lot of music today.

Technical issues aside this is a nice, uptempo affair that is full of youthful promise and excitement for the music that the band are making. Taking clear nods from their fellow countrymen
Biffy Clyro"Night School" builds to a rousing crescendo before a slower, quieter bridge and then bouncing back to finish the song off.

I'm afraid I can't really comment on the B side
"Home vs Home" as it is pretty much unlistenable with the CD still refusing to play properly. Even without hearing the B side this is a good, rocky, uptempo and exciting effort from The Xcerts. It's easy to see what all the fuss is about.

7/10
