Lauren Pritchard's first solo album is a triumph. I loved the melancholy, soulful and melodic songs on her EP but this release has an overwhelmingly uplifting sound. These songs really spoke to me, of hope, loss and finding the strength to begin life anew.
Her voice on Wasted in Memphis is awesome: lilting, rich and almost guttural. Island have a brilliant young artist who has far to go and talent to burn. Buy a copy, it's excellent.
